SMC 09

Last week I was lucky enough to attend to the SMC 09 conferences in Porto. The overall quality of the conferences was really great. Among the best presentations: – José Carlos Príncipe made an outstanding lecture “Perception as Self Organization in Space Time” – Frédéric Bettens, Todor Todoroff “Real-time DTW-based Gesture Recognition External Object for Max/MSP and PureData” – Yann Orlarey, Dominique Fober, Stephane Letz “Parallelization of Audio Applications with Faust“, which was actually my favorite… The automatic optimized graph/code generation is truly impressive.
